Blog 4 How can a woman reduce her risk of sexual assault?

While sexual assault is not completely preventable and can happen at any given moment unfortunately, there are several ways that can help reduce the chance of a woman undergoing this tragic situation. It is always a good idea to have the thinking cap on at all times, especially when shadyness is in the air. Sometimes men can act as if they hung the moon to persuade a lady to give in to their sexual desires. Sometimes women can be naive and vulnerable because inside lies a genuine soul and would never think that this Earth has cruel people in it that do horrible things. It is so very important to always say no to a stranger, even if it hurts their feelings. When alone at night, whether it is walking to your car from work, or into the grocery store, chances are higher for sexual assault to take place. For a woman to prevent sexual assualt, I would deeply encourage her to never be alone at night. Also, the internet is never a good idea when it comes to meeting a complete stranger. Anyone could be on the other side of that screen just shooting out lies. I would encourage all women to do away with any kind of interaction with strangers on the internet. Rarely anything good comes out of it. Lastly, going out into public places such as a bar, or even a party, it is very important to drink responsibly and also keep your peepers out for any hooligans that even think about doing something to it. It is a good thing there are cell phones because in some situations they could be a life saver. It is so very important to have "ICE" (In Case of Emergency), with the contact information of who you would want to get informed incase something were to happen. When it comes to sexual assault, us women better have some mace handy and get ready to have all the hope in the world that nothing will happen.
